About
I grew up making art on the rural East Coast of Canada where I developed a deep connection with the forest, marshes and coastal areas around my home. After earning a B.F.A in Studio Arts and B.Ed. in Visual Arts, I worked as an Art Educator in Toronto, Shanghai and Taipei, but later gave up teaching to make art full-time.
My art is the expression of curiosity and wonder inspired by my relationship with nature. I explore the essence of experiences through deconstructed and abstract representations. Whether inspiration comes as a rugged mountain landscape or gentle quality of light through the trees, color, texture and movement help communicate the experience of wonder. For me, the act of painting is an essential spiritual practice. Sometimes my art is a reflection of my self as well as an interpretation of the natural environment.
I encourage you to fully participate in the beauty around you, and hope my art brings peace and harmony to your home.
